Thank you for your interest in FEMSPORT.
Welcome to our new SPIRIT CHALLENGE! This is strictly an online participation event created as a result of the pandemic. Keeping the spirit, community and camaraderie of Femsport alive is our mission. This new structure helps athletes choose challenges based on their situation (i.e. limited access to equipment, training space, coach/trainer, gym, etc.).
Everyone is welcome to participate in this unique, one-of-a-kind event. We encourage all levels of female athletes and non-athletes to take part in becoming their own champion. There is no pre-requisite and all women adult ages, shapes and sizes have the opportunity to participate in Femsports’ physically challenging events. The following should give you a better idea of the event format and what to expect. If you have any questions…just ask.
NOTE: some changes may be needed to accommodate any glitches we may encounter along the way.
ADULT AGES:
You must be of legal age of majority in the province or territory which you are participating in.
If you are competing in any of these provinces, you MUST be 18 + yrs old: – Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan.
If you are competing in any of these provinces or territories, you MUST be 19+ yrs old: – British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Yukon.
HOW IT WORKS:
STEP 1
Register online. Your registration/entry form includes the option for you to choose your date (August 7th – August 16th, 2021) and time (1.25 hr appointment) you would like to perform your virtual SPIRIT CHALLENGE. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to the virtual zoom session so they can cheer you on.

STEP 2
Choose six (6) challenges and start training.
You will inform us of your six challenges chosen when we confirm your virtual appointment 5 days prior to your date selection. In the meantime, you can start your training and find which challenges work best for your situation and athletic ability. (Below is the list of challenges for you to choose from).
STEP 3
Look for your medal and goodies in the mail.
Once you have completed your challenges virtually, we will send your rewards.
On the day of:
Your online zoom appointment will be supervised by one of our official trainers. You will have 1.25 hrs to complete your 6 (six) challenges which you submitted 5 day prior. You are more than welcome to invite your family and friends to join the zoom appointment and cheer you on.
THE CHALLENGES:
Below is a general list. You will be required to choose one (1) from at least six (6) groups of challenges. You do not have to make your final decision until 5 days prior to your challenge date. Group #1 is MANDATORY and will be recognized as one of your six choices.
We have given you the choice to do the classic challenges from our previous events and they are listed first in most of the groups.
Resting
During Challenge: You are permitted as many 10sec rest periods as you need. Remember, the clock does not stop while you take these rests. If you do not continue before the 10sec is up, your performance will be complete.
Between Challenges: Resting between each challenge is recommended. You may take as long as you need, but remember you only have 1.25 hrs to complete all disciplines.
SAFETY:
Equipment: All equipment used will be your choice and must be in complete, undamaged, safe, working order and solely the responsibility of each individual participant. Please ensure proper safety precautions are practiced with use of all equipment and machinery during your training and when performing your online challenges. Femsport Athletics, Nancy Lockington and its officers, agents, representatives and associates and all others are not responsible or liable for injuries or damages caused by equipment or machinery purchased, constructed, used or suggested by Femsport Athletics.
Shin Safety: If you choose to do box jumps of any kind, it is MANDATORY that every athlete wear protective gear (SHIN GUARDS) on their shins while performing your box jumps!! If you do not…you will not be permitted to compete in this challenge. Socks, tape, etc. on their own will NOT be permitted. ** ONLY HARD SHIN GUARDS ARE ACCEPTABLE!! ** Please ensure your shin guards stay in place.
Workout Gloves: You are more than welcome to wear gloves. This is your choice (not mandatory). Straps and/or chalk are not permitted.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
As an athlete/competitor, it is your responsibility to ensure you keep informed of any changes and additional information to the format, times, details, etc. Please remember to check the FEMSPORT website (www.femsport.ca), Facebook (www.facebook.com/FemsportAthletics) and your Email regularly to keep up-to-date on any changes.
This is new to us and new to you, so we ask that you please be understanding and patient as we navigate through this new structure.
